I have never gotten anything I didn't like at Riley's. Today it was a veggie sandwich on fresh sour dough. Layers on ripe tomato and avocado , along with crisp cucumber slices, sprouts, and lettuce. Top that off with real Swiss cheese and a tangy dressing. Yum. If it's cold or you're not feeling well, you can't beat the homemade soups, the potato cheese being my favorite. If you want to grab something fast that is above the usual chains, Riley's is the spot.

Anyone remember when this was the Malt Barn a long time ago? The sandwiches here are pretty good but recently it seems like they have started skimping on the meat and may have gone with a cheaper cut of meat. I would expect a little better sandwich for the price you pay. When I want a good sandwich in this area I now default to Village Baker just down the road.

I will be honest. I had no idea this place existed but I had found a coupon and decided to try it. The shakes are amazing! The banana shake is probably one of the best I have had. I didn't expect it to be a sandwich spot and like others, thought it sounded like a hamburger joint but it's not going to stop me from coming back. I tried the potato cheese soup and it's delish. If you don't want to try the food at least try the shakes!

Well I'll be a cocoa monkey's uncle. Turns out Riley's has some pretty good shakes. In a lifelong pursuit of the world's best chocolate banana milkshake, Riley's just made a solid first impression. I was around the corner getting my arepa on when I remembered Riley's was nearby and I wanted to grab a shake. A quick turn onto Redwood and a drop into their parking lot and I was there. In short time I had my shake (it seems they only sell one size, and at $4 it was at the upper end of what I'd like to spend) but I must confess it was darn tasty. Great texture--not too runny, but not a cup full of ice cream either. They use the chocolate syrup to turn vanilla, which is huge for me. It needed juuuuust a bit more chocolate, but it was perfectly banana-ed. Others have nailed "the thing" about this place that I think really has kept it from being more popular than it is. It's the total and complete disconnect between the exterior of the building, and the interior of the building. By all measurements, this should be a side-of-the-road burger stand. There should be double bacon things and fried potatoes of all shapes, sizes, and names, and lots of ice cream concoctions. You'd expect something a little dirty, a little run down, and totally divey - in the awesome way. Instead, you've got this siding exterior, and a lofted, open ceiling interior with wood millwork, a round modern counter, and much more modern interior hosting a shop that serves sandwiches. Wh.. wh... huh? Be it known I'm not holding that against them. I was surprised by the whole thing, and it's definitely a positive. Yet, it's hard to fully embrace the place when the viscera it evokes is a long, confused brow raise. They definitely deserve shot for sandwiches, too. When I get one, I will most certainly revisit the rating.

To be perfectly honest, I pulled into Riley's parking lot expecting to order a fattening, greasy hamburger, onion rings, and Diet Coke (gotta watch those calories), and was a bit disappointed to find out that they are a sandwich shop of the cold variety. Apparently the owners of Riley's also own Ab's drive-in, which would explain why this place looked like a burger joint. I ordered a half sandwich with roast beef and cheddar on wheat. It was an ok sandwich. The bread was pretty tasty, and the sandwich had a "special sauce" which, as far as I can tell, was mayo mixed with a little horseradish. Their potato cheese soup was tasty. It had a nice cheesy, bacon-y flavor. I would get the soup again. I didn't try their shakes, which are supposedly pretty good. I'll have to try one the next time I'm out on Redwood Road. But I won't make a special trip to get out there.

My wife introduced me to this place as it is a favorite of hers now after her sister took her there. The sandwich and potato soup were very good. The prices seemed high, but they have typical prices for this day and age. I do not care for the modern 'shake', which is just a cup of ice cream, so we ordered our chocolate malts thinned down (so they were drinkable), which the staff were happy to do. The malts were very good as well. We live in Eagle Mountain so probably wouldn't drive just to visit Riley's, but would go again if we were in the area. I do like to give my business to little local places to have a change from all the huge chain establishments.

I saw this little place on the side of Redwood a while ago - assumed it to be a burger joint. Hubby is on a quest to find the best chocolate banana shake in the world, which means he has to try every place that serves shakes at least once. Sometimes he has to try them weekly, just to be sure nothing has changed. Well, here was a new candidate and we were definitely on a hunt that night. I didn't actually go in, I was busy eating food truck food in the car and didn't want to be disturbed, but I definitely had my share of the delish choco banana shake that came back out. It was a good size, a good texture and a good flavor. Yum. I peaked in the windows and at the menu as we drove away, apparently it's actually pretty nice inside and serves a variety of sandwiches. I guess it just goes to show...you can't judge a book by it's cover...or in this case, a Riley's by it's siding and boring rectangular shape. Maybe I'll have to try a sandwich next time.

It is ok at best. Shakes are decent but overpriced. I rather drive over to one of the other places in the area that has better shakes. The food was good but priced on the high side for what it was. I should go here more because it is right next to my house but one time was enough for me. The only way I would probably land up going back is if I had to walk. If my cars are working I'll just hope in one and head to a different place.

Good sandwiches and fantastic shakes. They only have one soup on the menu, but Potato Cheese is good. The prices are a high. My wife and I both had soup and a sandwich and it hit us at $23.00. Sandwiches are good, but I can get bigger and just as good for less at Subway. Biggest problem here I saw was the management. They seem to have no clue how to manage employees. They seem to promote kids to supervisors, but give them no management training. The day supervisor is abusive and rude to her co-workers. Bad enough I won't ever go back. Disappointed...

The veggie sandwich here is addicting! The bread is delicious, and they pile the veggies on high! The special sauce (I suspect is just mayo) is truly what makes the sandwich. I despise mayo because it reminds me of liposuction, but this special sauce is close to my heart. I adore it! I really need to get in here more.

So here's the deal - I came to this location in West Jordan next to airport #2 because I wanted an Ab's burger and corn dog. Instead of Ab's, I find Riley's has relocated here from Redwood Road. Haven't been to Riley's for years (must be a reason) so I left without going in - may be great now but it isn't the Ab's chow I wanted - maybe next time.
